[Infographic] Kratom vs. Opiate Painkillers
Controversial plant from Southeast Asia has incredible healing potential
This is the latest infographic in our popular series that has been going viral on social media.
And unfortunately, the need for this type of information is rapidly rising.
Deaths from opiates, and synthetic opiates in general, are soaring...
But there are still tens of millions of people suffering from serious pain who need SOMETHING to help treat it.
Recent research suggests kratom could be that something, and at the very least it's far less dangerous than the most popular pharmaceutical opiates. In fact, kratom, which is a naturally occurring plant in Southeast Asia, has no known fatal dose to human beings.
Meanwhile, opiates were responsible for nearly 50,000 deaths in the U.S. alone last year.
We believe this information could literally save lives. If you agree, or if you want to post a comment, please share this Kratom infographic on Facebook.
And if you really want to take a deep dive into the subject, you can check out a new documentary on Netflix from filmmaker Chris Bell. It's called A Leaf of Faith, and it goes deep into the world of kratom, covering the scientific research, the manufacturing, and the controversy from some negative voices in the medical-industrial complex.
We highly recommend it.
Now, this doesn't mean opiates don't help some patients when used under correct medical supervision. And any time you consider changing a medication regimen, you need to consult with a doctor.
But if you are prescribed opiates, you can take this type of information to your doctor and see if you might be eligible for alternatives.
I know for me, the fewer pills I take, the better I feel. And opiates are far from the only offender.
Last week we shared an infographic comparing the sleeping pill Ambien to natural alternative melatonin.
What would you like to see us find an alternative for next week? Let us know in the comments.
