Hi y’all!

Alex Reid here with your Monday roundup.

Everyone is looking for the secret to youth.

Well, here is what scientists say not to do if you want to maintain your youthful glow.

A recent study reveals what might really be the culprit for aging.

It’s not the food you eat.

It’s not the amount you exercise.

It’s not even your genetics.

The tricky thing is the source is almost impossible to escape.

It's blue light.

And it’s emitted by your computer, phone, tablet, and just about any technology that has a screen.

Science News recently posted:

New research suggests that the blue wavelengths produced by light-emitting diodes damage cells in the brain as well as retinas, according to a new study in a model organism.

Natural light is crucial for the body's circadian rhythm — the 24-hour cycle of physiological processes such as brain wave activity, hormone production and cell regeneration that are important factors in feeding and sleeping patterns.

Researchers say it’s artificial light that interferes with this cycle. And the craziest thing is, they claim you don’t even have to see the light for it to be harmful.

So what could this mean for you as you fall asleep (like many other Americans) with your phone at your bedside?

Go here to see how scientists used flies to reach this conclusion.

We've talked about an outside influence, but let’s focus on the internal.

How well do you trust your gut?

Some believe your gut could be betraying your mind.

In fact, the latest research suggests that post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can be linked to your gut.

According to Newsweek:

No conclusive evidence has been found yet, but research indicates that the gut microbiota is connected to neuropsychiatric disorders.

Gut bacteria may help regulate things like the body's use of brain chemicals, such as dopamine.

Researchers say that though gut bacteria could contribute to PTSD, there are ways to improve gut health.

Even Johns Hopkins Medicine acknowledges gut health’s influence on overall health.

Medical experts say there are specific everyday foods that can help boost your gut health.

If you want to learn which foods that can boost intestinal health, go here now.

And while you’re choosing the right foods to boost your health… Have you been diligent with your workout plans?

In the darker, fall months, it’s common to become more lethargic and inactive.

Who doesn’t want to watch their favorite shows, curled up with comfort food on the couch?

While that might sound good, it won’t extend your life.

Studies show that exercise and food go hand in hand for disease prevention and longer life.

According to science, the less time you dedicate to “meal times,” the more motivated you will feel to work out!

If you’ve been looking for ways to motivate yourself, the trick you’ve been searching for could be this!

Go here now so you can stay on your A-game.

To your health,
